Chim Cherie’s House of Fireplaces has been serving Central Iowa since 1978. We are Des Moines’ original chimney sweeps, complete with tails and a top hat. Throughout the years, our business expanded to include complex masonry repair, such as tuckpointing and complete chimney restoration. As times changed, we began to sell and install wood and gas fireplaces, inserts, and stoves, as well as pellet stoves and inserts. Due to staffing shortages, we have had to discontinue our masonry work, concentrating mainly on installation and service of our existing customers. We are a small, single-owner, locally owned business. Our owner, who started out as a chimney sweep, has been in the hearth industry for over 40 years. Our installer, who hails from Cologne, Germany, has been with us for over 16 years. Our combined knowledge of the hearth industry, coupled with our small business mentality, leads to personalized and quality service.
Our showroom is rather unique, located in a Victorian home nestled in the Ingersoll and Grand Avenues neighborhood in Des Moines. We are located on the west side of 35th Street, between Ingersoll and Grand Avenues. A narrow driveway leads to our back parking lot where our entrance is located.
